Buyer's Market

Buyers can now feel the edge in negotiations in the Bellingham Real Estate marketplace. Some prices have dropped up to $60,000. Most of the major price reductions are over, in my opinion. Consumer confidence is rising as national magazines continue to praise the Northwest and especially Bellingham for it's refreshing community sprit and untouched natural surroundings. Now is a good time to buy. Interest rates are holding in the low 6 percent and trends indicate by the middle of 2007, rates and home prices will rise. A good inventory of affordable single family homes are on the market-giving buyers a better selection than the previous three years. Investers are calling for advice as to where the best buys are located. My advice is to buy in Bellingham if possible and then head North along the coast towards Vancouver, British Columbia. Growth is going that direction with Birch Bay . developers building and planning more resorts, shopping districts and water front and water view condominiums, vacation and primary residences. Bellingham in my opinion will always be the hub but Birch Bay and Blaine are ony 30 minutes to the North. Semiahmoo has a very large resort and golf course community wee established towards the Canadian border with a new waterfront addition called Marin on the Semiahmoo spit.
