Bellingham Gets A Near Top Ranking for 'Best Places to Live'

Bellingham and Whatcom County (the true Northwest corner of the U.S.) rises to second-best place to live in the United States.  Up from 38th place in 2004.  Not a single person that lives here is surprised.  Active retirees, empty-nesters, families, singles, and couples have found this part of the country offers everything you could ever want.  Mountains, ocean, coast line, lakes, rivers, hills, pastures, farmland (Whatcom County is one of the top producers of rasberries in the U.S.), parks, 9 towns, more golf courses in Whatcom County per captia than in any other county in the state, and the state's third largest university, Western Washington University, which is the counties largest employer. Recreation is in abundance.
