34th Anniversary of the Ski to Sea Race
Ski to Sea race is Memorial Weekend. The parade kicks off this happening weekend dowtown Bellingham, Washington on Saturday. Judging for categories such as: Best Commercial Float, Best Pet, Best Bicycle, Best Band and Drill Team. Street Fairs in the downtown and also in the Fairhaven district offer hand-crafted items, music, beer garden and food venders.
There are seven legs in the race, beginning up Mount Baker. The Cross Country Ski leg, Downhill leg, Running leg, Bike leg, Canoe leg, and lastly the Kayak Leg across Bellingham Bay.
This race is sponsored by the Bellingham Chamber of Commerce to highlight the many receational opportunities. The Ski to Sea race begins Sunday at 8:30 AM on Mount Baker and the finishers start to cross the bay around 1PM.
